Appointments are not required but encouraged if you need any design assistance or dedicated time in the showroom.  

Appointments are required on Saturday or when doing a large project such as a home, or multiple bathrooms.

Larger projects require more time and focus to pick, so having a dedicated associate while you're in the showroom is important.
